The cakes that were

Here, now, is a picture of the cakes that I salvaged and frosted and served to Samara and her friends and family at her birthday party.


And a pic of Samara having her cake and eating it, too.



And, FYI, for those of you who weren't sure (i.e., my Mom), the pile of pink stuff in the middle of the cake that wasn't (below), is the balled up, useless pink fondant. I smashed the cakes together with the bubblegum tasting and texture-ing gunk and plunked a candle on the top only for the purposes of that picture. And, honestly, the cake failing so miserably was almost as good as if it would have gone perfectly.
