8 Random Things

Meg tagged me... Thanks, Meg! These are fun... The rules:

1. I have to post these rules before I give you the facts.
2. Each player starts with eight random facts/habits about themselves.
3. People who are tagged need to write their own blog about their eight things and post these rules.
4. At the end of your blog, you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their names.
5. Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged, and to read your blog.

1. When I feed Samara, her ear leaves this perfect little ear-imprint on my arm. I love that imprint and I've been wanting to say so in some context for a long time. This list is as good as any.

2. My siblings and I make fun of my mom because she personalizes most movies and television shows. She gets SO involved that she sometimes has a hard time sleeping after an intense night of watching '24'. I shall no longer make fun of her. Tim and I have watched a couple of movies recently that contain neglectful and sad parent-child situations (L 'Enfant and Sherrybaby.) I'm not losing sleep, but AH! I can't watch more than 1/2 a movie before I have to go in and check on sleeping Samara to remind myself of my own world. [Not recommending the Sherrbaby, by the way. The redemptive moment at the end and the honesty of the story didn't make up for what I had to fast forward through.]

3. Tim and I read together every night. We took several months off at the beginning of Samara's life, but now we're back at it. We're reading The Memory Keeper's Daughter by Kim Edwards. I love it.

4. My other favorite novel from the last few years: The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger.

5. I usually discern God's leading in my life through moments of intense intuition. These intuitive moments usually pan out the way I expect them to. God threw me a curve ball a few weeks ago. Still trying to figure out what I intuited - because it did not pan out the way I thought it was going to.

6. I love the CRCNA, but sometimes I don't like it.

7. Grocery shopping is now something I look very much forward to because Samara comes with and sits in the cart. Part of the fun is her enjoyment of the sensory overload. The other part of the fun is random people telling me how cute she is. I put food next to her in the seat spot and she plays with it (non-toys are so much more interesting to her right now than toys).

8. Samara and Tim and I walked the Survivors' Lap at a Relay for Life last week Friday night. Samara wore the smallest t-shirt they had for survivors (a youth small). She was the youngest survivor on the track.

I tag Meika, Karla, Christine, Fiona, Betsy, Doug, Emily, and Amanda!

I just want to do a little dance for you when I see your girl in that t-shirt! We leave Japan in exactly six weeks...

Thanks for the tag!

I have picked up the gauntlet and posted accordingly...

(It'll also be fun to see how far and wide the tags go!)
