We think that Samara's first word was 'Dada.' She squeals his name when Tim comes home from work.
Samara uses my name when she's crabby. Through her tears she says, "My-ma-ma-ma-my-ma-ma," over and over again. I didn't think we could really count that as an intelligible word, but Tim thinks that she says it while she's crying because she knows that I'm going to come and rescue her. :-) Thanks, Love.
Well, here she is talking lovingly to her Zebra pillow in a video I captured last night... No intelligible words, really (except right at the end, I think she says "Hagrid." I know - too much Harry Potter).
These words from Psalm 8 come to mind:
"Through the praise of children and infants you have established a stronghold against your enemies." - Today's New International Version
or from The Message:
"Nursing infants gurgle choruses about you."
Thank you, Lord - for words and pre-words - for my verbal little girl!

That video is too cute. What a little talker. Sometimes I wish so badly to understand exactly what babies say. :)
Yesterday I got out the video camera to tape Samantha as she was talking and dancing and just being really goofy. It wasn't until I went to transfer it to the computer that I discovered that I had hit pause instead of record and only recorded my fingers placing the lense cap on. Oh well.
She's so cuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuute! I can't WAIT to meet her!!!!!
ah, she is lovely heidi...lily perked up had to come over and get a look! I like it when she looks over at tim, then you, then on with her 'talking'....!
I just love baby babble. Andrew's starting to use real words and I already miss his sweet little baby language. Samara is adorable and she is very verbal!! Such a cute video.
Absolutely fabulous! I wonder what she was thinking as she considered the zebra pillow?!

no, no baby yet :( :( we think it'll probably this weekend (she was due today!)
i ordered my own copy of the book from barnes and noble and picked it up yesterday. yay! i should bring it along next time we go out for coffee :)
So neat to hear Samara "talking". You can tell she feels secure and safe in spite of all she has been through already in her life. That is definitely a tribute to good parenting!
Blessings, Ruth
